Why Grumpy Old Goat Was Created
Grumpy Old Goat grew from the events and educational experiences we were already sharing here on the farm. As those programs grew, we realized we needed a way to accept donations that could help support them while continuing to create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for both our goats and the people who visit us.
Today, Grumpy Old Goat helps us bring people closer to farm life through hands-on learning, homesteading skills, community events, and meaningful time with the animals. Our goal is simple: preserve practical knowledge, bring people together, and keep creating a place where both people and goats can thrive.
Nicknames That Stuck
We didn’t give ourselves the names Grumpy Old Goat and The Goat Lady—our customers and farm visitors did! Somewhere along the way, those nicknames simply stuck, and today we wear them with pride.
What began with our love of goats and homesteading grew into something much bigger when we realized how much joy these animals brought to the people who visited us. That connection inspired experiences like Picnic with the Goats, Goat Therapy, workshops, and plenty of laughter along the way.
Around here, learning, community, and farm life go hand in hand—and sometimes the best memories begin with a baby goat in your lap or a sneaky goat trying to steal your snack. 🐐💛
