IN THE GARDEN
What Should You Be Planting This Month?
🥕 In the Garden — Sweeter Carrots Come With Cooler Weather!
Did you know that carrots grown during the cooler months can be sweeter and more flavorful than those grown in the heat? As temperatures drop, carrots convert some of their stored starches into sugars, giving them that wonderful, naturally sweet taste!
Here in South Louisiana, fall is a great time to plant carrots. So don’t put those gardening tools away just yet! Get those carrot seeds into your garden now, keep the soil moist while they germinate, and let our cooler weather work its magic.
There’s nothing quite like pulling a fresh, sweet carrot straight from your own garden! 🥕💚
