Harvest Haven: Fall Homesteading Workshop
SEPTEMBER 2026 • HARVEST HAVEN EDITION
Practical skills, old-fashioned wisdom, and a little dirt under our nails.
From the Goat Lady's Journal
September is when the homestead starts telling us, “Hey, cooler weather is coming — are you ready?” This month at Harvest Haven, we’re rolling up our sleeves and getting prepared together.
We’ll talk about getting our bees ready for winter, continue building our canning skills, preserve teas and herbal seasonings, and dig a little deeper into caring for and using those trusty cast iron skillets.
And we’re not done fermenting! After getting our Ginger Bug bubbling last month, we’re continuing our fermentation series and getting homemade cider vinegar started.
Bring your questions, bring your notebook, and definitely bring your curiosity. You don’t have to know everything about homesteading to start — you just have to be willing to learn.
With dirt on my boots & love from the farm,
Sandra — The Goat Lady 🐐

IN THE GARDEN
Now Is the Time to Start Your Fall & Winter Garden
Your fall garden starts while it still feels like summer! 🌱
Now’s the time to start thinking cabbage, broccoli, leafy greens, carrots and more — but don’t stop there. With a little planning, those same garden beds can become a companion garden filled with vegetables and helpful herbs growing together.
Then underneath, we can have the fuller In the Garden blog explaining what to seed now and how you’re building the companion garden.
WORKSHOP RESOURCES
Couldn't Make the Workshop?
Don’t worry — we’re working on something just for you! 🌿
Behind the scenes, we’re building the Harvest Haven Downloadable Library, a growing collection of our favorite recipes, homesteading how-to guides, preservation resources, workshop handouts and practical information you can keep and use right at home.
Whether you missed a workshop, want to refresh your memory, or simply want to learn at your own pace, our goal is to put useful, down-to-earth homesteading knowledge right at your fingertips.
🐐 We’re not quite ready to open the library doors yet… but we’re getting close.
Stay tuned — we’ll make an announcement as soon as the Harvest Haven Downloadable Library is ready!
